Core Capabilities of Quality Management Module in NetSuite
Inspections:- With the inspection record, organizations can define what exactly they want from a quality engineer to check. There are basically two types of inspections, qualitative & Quantitative inspections. In qualitative inspections, the inspector can verify the condition of the items or can also verify the appropriate certificates are in place. Quantitative inspections enable you to define multiple measurable elements along with criteria for acceptance, i.e. diameter, width, length, temperature or even chemical composition.
Skip Lot, Sample Size and Failures:- Quality Management module also enables you to specify how many items need to be inspected. You can also define rules for inspecting specific sequences of the lot or serial tracked items. With failures, you can define how many of the inspected units can fail inspection before the inspection itself is failed.
Test Definition:- With inspection, you can set up multiple data elements that dictate the inspection process. Data fields define the information that must be entered during the inspection, example length, width, and height. You can set up rules that guide how data field entries can be compared with standard to determine pass/fail.
Specifications:- To establish quality activities, specifications can be associated with item/vendor/ location combinations. With skip-lot, sampling and other settings, organizations can define inspection frequency. Furthermore, organizations can define conformance rules that establish when an item fails an inspection.
Automatic Triggering of Inspections:- NetSuite enables you to monitor transactions based on item/vendor/location associations. You can also initiate inspection activities with different rules for each.
Inspector Assignment:- An individual quality inspector is assigned to perform an inspection once an item has been identified for inspection. With workflows, the task can automatically be assigned to inspectors based on location, vendor, inspection type, etc.
Workflow Driven Non-Conformance:- NetSuite provides customizable workflows to drive additional activities in case of quality failures or non-conformances. NetSuite offers initial workflows for
- Quarantine and Release
- Initiation of Vendor Return Authorizations
NetSuite User profile:-
Quality Administrator:- “Administrator” is responsible for establishing & maintaining the quality specifications that need to be followed, Administrator creates inspection profiles of tests that are typically carried out together and the workflows that determine how exceptions might be handled.
Quality Manager:- It is the responsibility of the Quality Manager to monitor the overall effectiveness of the quality program. Quality Manager should detect trends in the test results, ensuring overall compliance with the company’s quality objectives and standards.
Quality Engineer:- The job of the Quality Engineer or Inspector is to collect the key data. NetSuite notifies them automatically when something needs to be inspected and guide them down the appropriate path of resolution when it comes to dispositioning failed and non-compliant materials.
